OVERVIEW
When building our first purpose built roller mower designed for both golf courses and sports fields, our customers wanted a mower that is nimble, durable, easy to use and maintain. Progressive Turf Equipment took those requests and created the TDR-X -'The way a contour mower should be designed'. It all starts at the front with the Adaptive Swivel Hitch that lets the mower work with the tractor instead of fighting with it, unlike a mower with a conventional hitch. Equipped with PRO-EZII blade tips, the TDR-X give an elite, professional finish that you can be proud of. Full width rollers on both the rear and front of each roller deck leaves stripe after beautiful stripe. Pro Lift-N-Turn lets you go over cart paths, roadways, and other obstacles while never having to shut off the PTO. Maintenance is a breeze with maintenance free spindles, 100-hr PTO shafts and a spring-less belt tightening system gives you piece of mind over the long term. The 3 decks float independently allowing the TDR-X to follow the contours of any golf course it cuts. Anyway you look at it, the TDR-X is: "the way a Contour Roller Mower Should Be Designed!"

Robust Roller Design
Field proven on our larger mowers, the TDR-X is designed with harden HEX drive roller end shafts and matching bearings that ensure positive engagement and rotation. No unique sleeves or bearings are used. Roller-end bearings have 50hr greasing intervals. Outboard placement of the roller bearings allows for wider deck rollers and easy servicing.
Maintenance Free Spindles
Developed and tested over many years, the sealed bearings we use have a unique steel seal located on the bottom and the top of the spindle so that it is designed to keep lubrication in and contaminates out. See HERE
Adaptive Swivel Hitch
The TDR-X is built flexible and agile to handle any bunker or contour. A 6-way Adaptive Swivel Hitch (shown at left) isolates the tractor from the mower allowing truer contour tracking. The PTO support makes tractor hook-up easier. Both features are standard equipment and exclusive to Progressive!
Accurate Contour Mowing
The TDR-X has three identical mowing decks that produce a superior cut while easily conforming to contour changes. Each deck floats independently up/ down, and pivots fore/aft, as well as side-to-side, delivering a professional quality cut over berms or when trimming the edge of a bunker. Built-in float on each deck means your tractor doesn’t require hydraulic float.
Designed to Do a Better Job and Save Money
The outer corner of a rotary blade is the first to wear and round off. Grass can be missed between the blades on mowers with a small blade overlap, even when mowing in a straight line, thus requiring more frequent blade replacements to regain an even cut. With the industry leading 2 inch overlap, the TDR-X maintains its cut quality and the blades do not have to be replaced as often! Compared this to other brands that have blade overlaps as small as ¾”, the TDR-X will save money, every day! The TDR-X is equipped with replaceable tip PRO-EX II blades as standard equipment.

atility – Thanks to a Better Discharge
The TDR-X is designed with the two outer blades to the rear of the deck, which minimizes windrowing of clippings along the side channels. Progressive does not use straight baffles under the deck like competitive designs do. The TDR-X clippings are able to fan out in a wide, even dispersal pattern over the rear deck roller, leaving both a beneficial and professional after cut appearance; making it ideal as a rough, fairway or a sports turf mower.
Pro Lift-N-Turn™
An industry exclusive feature not found on other contour mowers! Pro Lift-N-Turn™ allows all three decks to be temporarily raised slightly off the ground with the PTO still engaged. Crossing a cart path or other minor obstacles has never been easier. When initially engaging the PTO, the operator can lift the decks so the blades are above the uncut grass, reducing stress on the complete drivetrain. Click HERE to see the Pro Lift-N-Turn™ in action!
Easy-Set Height of Cut
HOC adjustment system is simple and robust. Just one 15/16” wrench is required to quickly and easily change the height-of-cut. The low profile design is mounted to the top of the side channel out of harms way. HOC range is between ⅜” and 3⅜” allowing the TDR-X to be used as either a rough, fairway or a sports turf mower.
Smart by Design
The TDR-X was designed the way a contour roller mower should be designed. Here are a few examples: The short length, CV joint equipped input shaft is easier and lighter to connect to a tractor than a long shaft. It also permits improved mobility and zero turn capability. The narrow front to back ‘roller base’ allows each deck to follow changing contours more accurately. Progressive is well known for industry leading blade tip speeds and the TDR-X is no exception. The nine 16¾” long blades rotate at over 3,350 rpm, providing an efficient and healthy finish cut.
Proven Drive Belt System
Two short-length belts are used in each TDR-X deck. Short belts minimize stretch, and therefore reduce maintenance and worry over the long term. For convenience, all belts have the same part number. A single adjustment point on each deck tensions both belts together, simplifying maintenance while eliminating concerns with additional pulleys, moving parts or spring type tensioners becoming fatigued and lose effectiveness – especially when used with a long belt.
